SPORT SCHEDULES:CLICK HERE San Ysidro High competes in the Metro Conference which is comprised of schools from the Sweetwater Union High School District and Mater Dei Catholic High School.  We are a member of the San Diego Section of the CIF and follow all rules and regulations under their jurisdiction.

We have an excellent coaching staff, the best facilities anywhere and a supportive administration.  Your child will receive an outstanding experience competing on our athletic teams.  We encourage students to participate in at least two sports.  Studies have shown that extracurricular activities raise student grade point averages, improve student attendance and will develop leadership qualities in our students.

Athletic Victories:

  • Boys’ Basketball team won the State Regional DIV. CIF 4 Championship: FEATURED ON SAN DIEGO U-T
  • Our Boys’ Varsity Cross Country team came in first in today’s meet against SOH and SUHI and are now guaranteed a banner!
  • Congratulations to Thelma Sepulveda (11th grade) who became a 3 time Metro Conference Tennis Champion
  • The following student athletes have been recognized from this past Spring Swim Season for making 1st Team South Bay League and 1 student for Player of the Year. Edwin Inzunza- Player of the Year and 1st Team all-League Eduardo Zepeda Eva Reyes Ashley Gorham Angel Zepeda Pablo Wells
  • Congratulations to our Cross-Country Team who medaled NINE runners at the Vaquero Stampede. Thank you Coach Walton and Coach Turbeville for your hard work and dedication to the team!
  • Our Boys Tennis team has earned All CIF San Diego Section All-Academic Team honors. Our team was the only Sweetwater Unified High School District team on the “South Region” with a team cumulative weighted GPA of 3.43.  In addition to this honor, Jett Ratsachak was named Section Scholar with a cumulative GPA of 4.41!
  • Jake Curtis (track and field) won the Metro League championship for both the 100 and 200 meter race. He and Victor Raygoza are both competing in the CIF Track and Field Tournament. Victor will be running the 800 and Jake the 100 and 200.
